Archerfield Airport

Archerfield Airport sits about 12 km southwest of Brisbane's city center and functions today as a general aviation hub for private aircraft, charter flights, and flight training schools. During World War II it served as a significant military base for the Royal Australian Air Force and US forces operating in the Pacific theatre. It plays no role in commercial airline traffic and is primarily of interest to general aviation enthusiasts and those with a curiosity about Queensland's wartime aviation history.
