Assembly Hall

The Salt Lake Assembly Hall is a neogothic place of worship situated at the southwest corner of Temple Square, owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The building was constructed in the early 1880s using granite offcuts left over from the construction of the nearby Salt Lake Temple — a hallmark of the resourceful pioneer spirit of Utah's early Mormon settlers. Seating roughly 1,400 people, it served the growing LDS congregation as a general assembly space and remains active today as a venue for free public organ recitals and choral concerts open to all visitors.
