Attingham Park

Attingham Park is a neoclassical country house built in 1785 for Noel Hill, 1st Baron Berwick, designed by architect George Steuart with a commanding columned portico characteristic of late Georgian English architecture. The interiors were later remodelled by John Nash and retain a notable collection of Regency furnishings and paintings, offering a rare intact window into early 19th-century aristocratic taste. The surrounding landscape park — through which the River Tern flows — was laid out in the English landscape tradition, with sweeping river views, woodland trails, and formal avenues. Now managed by the National Trust, the estate is a Grade I listed property open year-round for walking, cycling, and guided house tours.
