Alberbury Castle

Alberbury Castle is a medieval ruin in the village of Alberbury, Shropshire, roughly 15 km northwest of Shrewsbury and sitting directly on the historic border with Wales. The fortification was likely built in the 13th century, attributed to Fulke le Strange, serving as a defensive outpost in the contested Marches — the frontier zone that English lords and Welsh princes disputed for centuries.
