W H Stark House

The W.H. Stark House is a fully restored 14,000-square-foot Victorian mansion in Orange, Texas, built for timber and oil magnate William H. Stark during the Gilded Age. Its scale and ornate detailing reflect the considerable wealth generated by the East Texas lumber industry in the late 19th century. Operated by the Stark Foundation and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the house functions as a house museum with its original furnishings, decorative arts, and household objects intact throughout. Guided tours run Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
