The Aubonne is a roughly 12-kilometre river in the canton of Vaud, draining the western fringe of the Swiss Plateau and the adjacent Jura before emptying into Lake Geneva. First recorded in a document dated 1005 under the name Albunna, it flows through an agricultural and forested landscape characteristic of the western Swiss Plateau. The river corridor offers quiet walking along the gently rolling terrain typical of the region.
