Viewpoint Oxia

The Oxia viewpoint sits in the Zagori highlands of northwestern Greece and offers one of the most dramatic perspectives over the Vikos Gorge — recognized as one of the world's deepest gorges relative to its width, with walls dropping up to 1,100 meters. The gorge falls within the Vikos-Aoos UNESCO Global Geopark, designated in 1973, which preserves the geological layering of the Pindus mountain range across its limestone terrain. From the platform, visitors look out across densely forested cliff faces and the thin ribbon of the Voidomatis river far below. The viewpoint is accessible by foot from the Zagori stone villages and serves as a regular waypoint on multi-day trekking routes through the Epirus highlands.
