A1 motorway
The A1 motorway is Switzerland's longest highway at 410 km, connecting Geneva in the southwest to St. Margrethen on the Austrian border in the northeast. It runs as a divided carriageway with at least two lanes per direction through multiple cantons, forming roughly one fifth of the national motorway network. A purely functional transport artery with no visitor or cultural attributes.
