Baba Qasem Mausoleum

The Baba Qasem Mausoleum is a 14th-century Islamic funerary monument in the historic center of Isfahan, situated just north of the city's Friday Mosque. Built to honor a local saint, it belongs to the early layer of Islamic sacred architecture in the city and features a finely carved mihrab and a domed chamber constructed from mud brick, fired brick, and tilework characteristic of the Ilkhanid period. During the Safavid era the building underwent repairs that left traces on its current appearance. Protected as Iranian cultural heritage, the mausoleum remains a quiet place of veneration, attracting visitors drawn to its intimate scale and ornamental detail rather than the grand monuments Isfahan is better known for.
