Kakegawa Station
Kakegawa Station sits in Shizuoka Prefecture on Honshū and is operated by JR Central. Originally opened in 1889 during the Meiji period, it today serves as a stop on the Tōkaidō Shinkansen line, placing the small city of Kakegawa within easy reach of both Nagoya and Tokyo. For most visitors it functions as a transit gateway rather than a destination in its own right.
