Asahikawa Station
Transport Hub
Hamamatsu Station opened in 1888 during Japan's Meiji era and today serves as a major JR Central hub in central Honshu. Its principal distinction is its stop on the Tokaido Shinkansen line, placing the city within roughly 90 minutes of both Tokyo and Osaka. The station itself has no significant architectural or cultural features beyond its transit function, making it primarily a gateway for onward travel into Shizuoka Prefecture.
