Bank of America Tower

The Bank of America Tower is Jacksonville's tallest building at 188 meters, anchoring the downtown skyline since its completion in 1990. Originally built as Barnett Tower for the locally prominent Barnett Bank, it changed its name twice in rapid succession — first in 1997 when Barnett was acquired by NationsBank, then again in 1998 following NationsBank's merger with Bank of America. The postmodern glass-clad tower functions purely as office space with no public observation deck, making it primarily a skyline landmark rather than a visitor destination.
