Basilica of St. Francis Xavier, Dyersville
CatholicPilgrimage SiteTwin-Tower Facade+5
St. Michael's Basilica is a neogothic Roman Catholic church in Miramichi, New Brunswick, completed in 1922. It serves as the procathedral of the Diocese of Saint John and holds the rank of basilica minor — a title granted by the Holy See that confers particular liturgical dignity and places the church among a select few in Canada bearing that designation. Dedicated to the Archangel Michael, the building is protected as a heritage structure, its neogothic towers forming a recognizable landmark along the Miramichi riverfront. Visitors will find the characteristic interior vocabulary of early twentieth-century Gothic Revival construction: pointed arches, slender nave columns, and ornamental stained glass.
