Built in the 14th century as a funerary complex for the Mamluk emir Aqsunqur - the "Blue Mosque" gets its name from the Persian Iznik tiles that the Ottoman governor Ibrahim Agha added in 1652. A rare blend of Mamluk and Ottoman architecture, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Historic Cairo.
