Situated along the eastern bank of the Nile, it bridges millennia of history with the energy of a sprawling modern metropolis. The city and its immediate surroundings encompass notable sites including the Giza West Field, the Unfinished Pyramid of Abusir, and the Coptic Museum, which holds one of the world's foremost collections of Egyptian Christian art. Historic mosques such as the Mosque of Gani Bak al-Ashrafi are also found within the city.
