Borjom-Kharagauli National Park

Borjom-Kharagauli National Park covers roughly 85,000 hectares in the Lesser Caucasus of south-central Georgia, making it one of the largest protected areas in the South Caucasus. Established in 1995, its terrain rises from forested valleys at 400 metres to alpine ridges at 2,642 metres, sheltering temperate broadleaf forest, subalpine meadows, and wildlife including brown bear, wolf, and Caucasian tur. A network of marked multi-day trekking routes connects staffed hiker shelters, making extended wilderness travel accessible without specialist equipment. The main ridgeline offers sweeping views deep into untouched Caucasian gorges — a scale of solitude rarely found elsewhere in Europe.
