Brasstown Bald

Brasstown Bald stands at 4,784 feet (1,458 m) as Georgia's highest point, straddling the county line between Union and Towns Counties within the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. The Cherokee people called the mountain Enotah and inhabited the surrounding valleys for centuries before forced removal under the Indian Removal Act in the 1830s displaced their communities. On clear days the summit offers a full 360-degree panorama stretching across the Blue Ridge Mountains into four neighboring states. A visitor center near the top covers Appalachian highland ecology, and a short but moderately steep trail leads to the summit observation deck.
