The "Campaña de la Virgen Peregrina" is a worldwide initiative of the Schoenstatt Movement, in which an image of the Mater Ter Admirabilis — the Schoenstatt Marian image — is passed from community to community and family to family, usually on a monthly cycle. The traveling shrine serves as a spiritual focal point for prayer and Marian devotion. In Santiago de Chile this tradition is especially vibrant, as the Schoenstatt Movement has deep roots in the Chilean population.
