Allee-Theater
Theatre
The Capitol Theater is the largest theatre in Duesseldorf, located on the edge of the Friedrichstadt district. With around 1,300 seats it focuses on musicals and touring productions. Originally built in the 1920s as a cinema, the hall was converted for live theatre use in the early 2000s after several intermediate uses. Long-run musicals such as "Tarzan" and "Ich war noch niemals in New York" alternate with guest performances and comedy nights. The Art Deco foyer still hints at the building's cinema past.
