Hiram Bithorn Stadium

Hiram Bithorn Stadium is a 1962 baseball venue in San Juan and the most prominent sports facility in Puerto Rico. It is named after Hiram Bithorn, the first Puerto Rican to play in Major League Baseball, who made his debut with the Chicago Cubs in 1942. Today it serves as home ground for the Cangrejeros de Santurce and San Juan Senators of the Liga de Béisbol Profesional de Puerto Rico, as well as several clubs in the Puerto Rico Soccer League — a football use added since 2008. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the stadium also hosts boxing matches and large-scale events beyond its regular sporting calendar.
