Accra Sports Stadium

Accra Sports Stadium is a multi-sport venue seating around 40,000 spectators, located in the heart of Ghana's capital. Opened in 1961 — just four years after Ghanaian independence — it was built as part of the nation-building drive under President Kwame Nkrumah, who positioned sport as a vehicle for national identity. Today it hosts Ghana Premier League matches and Black Stars international fixtures, drawing passionate local crowds that make it one of the most atmospheric football venues in West Africa.
