Soekarno–Hatta International Airport — also known as Cengkareng — is Indonesia's largest international airport and Southeast Asia's principal aviation hub. Opened in 1985 and named after Indonesia's two independence founding heroes Sukarno and Mohammad Hatta, it handled approximately 66.9 million passengers in 2018, ranking it among the world's top 20 busiest airports. It serves as the home base and main hub for Garuda Indonesia, the national carrier. Located in the Cengkareng district northwest of Jakarta's city centre, the airport operates three terminals, with ongoing expansion projects continuing to grow its capacity.
