Hoye-Crest

Hoye-Crest is the highest point in Maryland at 1,020 meters (3,360 ft), sitting in Garrett County within the Allegheny Mountains close to the West Virginia border. The summit is marked by an official elevation sign — otherwise it is a quiet, densely forested ridgeline with open views over the rolling Appalachian woodlands. The hike up follows narrow forest trails and can be completed in half a day; the peak is a popular target for highpointers — hikers who collect the highest summits of all 50 US states.
