The Itsuo Art Museum in Ikeda, Osaka Prefecture, was founded in 1957 by businessman and art collector Kobayashi Ichizō, whose pseudonym Itsuo gave the museum its name. The collection comprises around 5,500 works, including fifteen objects designated as Important Cultural Properties and twenty Important Art Objects of Japan. A new building replaced the original in 1997. The museum is a quiet but significant center for Japanese art in the greater Osaka area.
