Monument to Franc Rozman - Stane
Bronze SculptureYugoslaviaMonument+2
This bronze memorial, unveiled in Tallinn in 2002, honors Johan Pitka, one of the most consequential military figures of the Estonian War of Independence fought between 1918 and 1920. A merchant and shipowner by trade, Pitka built the Estonian Navy almost from scratch as rear admiral, orchestrating naval operations that proved decisive in the defense of Tallinn. The statue stands as part of Estonia's broader culture of remembrance for the first period of national independence, before Soviet occupation ended it in 1940.
