Kapelle Sankt Johannes von Nepomuk

The St. Johann Nepomuk Chapel sits on a steep slope above the Memminger Trockental in the Oberdorf quarter of Eisenburg, a district of Memmingen. It is dedicated to the Bohemian martyr John of Nepomuk, drowned in the Vltava River in 1393 on the orders of King Wenceslaus IV, who became the patron saint of bridges and the seal of confession — his feast day on 16 May is marked as the chapel's patronal festival.
