Korkeavuorenkatu

Korkeavuorenkatu is an approximately 860-metre north–south street in southern Helsinki, crossing two distinct neighborhoods: the northern section belongs to the elegant Kaartinkaupunki district, while the southern portion runs through the quieter Ullanlinna quarter. The street is notably hilly by Helsinki standards, with two ridges — one near the historic Erottaja fire station — giving it an uneven character unusual in the otherwise flat city centre. The building stock along the street dates largely from the late-19th-century urban expansion. Without a defined commercial or cultural identity, it reads primarily as a well-preserved slice of Helsinki's 19th-century street grid.
