Merlion Park

A 2,500-square-metre waterfront terrace at the edge of Marina Bay, opened in 2002 to give the relocated Merlion sculpture a proper stage. From the platform you face Singapore's postcard line-up: Marina Bay Sands with its skyboat roof, the durian-shelled Esplanade Theatre, the LED-clad towers of the CBD. A smaller mini-Merlion off to one side offers a less crowded photo angle for families. Time it for 7pm: sunset glows in the glass curtain walls, and at 8 and 9pm the Spectra light show kicks off across the water.
