Multimedia Art Museum

Also known as: Moskauer Haus der Fotografie, Moscow House of Photography, MAAM

The Multimedia Art Museum (MAMM) on Ostozhenka is Moscow's central institution for photography and contemporary media art. It grew out of the Moscow House of Photography founded in 1996 under director Olga Sviblova and moved into the present seven-story glass building of about 9,000 square meters in 2010. The museum organizes the Moscow Photo Biennale and shows rotating exhibitions ranging from Russian classics like Alexander Rodchenko to current international names. Several floors run programs in parallel, with a narrow staircase and glass elevator that are part of the staging. Convenient for visitors to the nearby Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, a few minutes from Kropotkinskaya metro.
