Mytishchi Arena
The Mytishchi Arena is a multipurpose hall opened in 2005 in the city of the same name about 20 kilometres northeast of Moscow. It seats 7,000 for ice hockey and up to 9,000 for concerts and long served as home rink of the KHL club Atlant Mytishchi. Today it hosts the Khimik hockey club. The venue was one of the playing sites of the 2007 Ice Hockey World Championship and regularly books Russian and international concert tours. Visitors usually arrive by commuter train from Moscow's Yaroslavsky station; the arena sits within a sports complex that includes a swimming pool and an open-air skating rink.
