Megasport Sport Palace

Also known as: Megasport Arena, Ice Palace Megasport, Ice Sport Palace on the Khodynka Field · +2

The Megasport Arena is a multipurpose venue on the Khodynka Field in northern Moscow, completed in 2006 and seating up to 13,926. Khodynka Field served for decades as a military airfield and parade ground; after 2000 it was redeveloped into a sports cluster, and together with the CSKA Arena, Megasport now forms one of the densest event nodes in the city. It functions mainly as an ice hockey arena, with HC Spartak Moscow and Dynamo Moscow taking turns as the primary KHL tenant, and has hosted top-tier international events including the 2007 IIHF World Championship and major figure-skating competitions. The hall also stages pop and rock concerts with Russian and international acts. A visit usually means taking the metro to Polezhayevskaya, crossing the now-redeveloped sports park, and catching a major Russian hockey or boxing night.
