Japan National Route 16

Also known as: National Route 16

Route 16 is a major Tokyo ring road that loops around the outer metropolitan area in a 330-kilometre arc. It threads through Yokohama, Sagamihara, Hachioji, Saitama and Chiba, linking commuter suburbs, US military bases and logistics centres. Designated in 1952, it is a traffic artery rather than a tourist road in its own right.
