St. Johannes Baptista in Steinbach am Wald is a small Catholic parish church in the Frankenwald region of Upper Franconia, protected as a Bavarian architectural monument. Its core dates to the 15th century, when it served as a fortified church — a Wehrkirche designed to shelter the local population in times of conflict, traces of which survive in the masonry. The church belongs to the Archdiocese of Bamberg and remains a quiet, functioning place of worship in a rural village setting.
