The WaldWipfelWeg is a roughly 1,000-metre treetop walkway threading through the Bavarian Forest, guiding visitors along suspended boardwalks and platforms at canopy height. Operated by Waldwipfelweg GmbH and accessible with an entry fee, the path is notably wheelchair-accessible — an uncommon feature for elevated nature trails. At its highest point, the walkway opens onto panoramic views across the ridgelines of the Bavarian Forest, the Danube valley, and the agricultural plains of the Gäuboden to the south. Information stations along the route explain local forest ecology and native tree species, making it as informative as it is scenic.
