The Altenbergturm is a 42.5-metre steel observation tower built in summer 2007 on the Altenberg, the highest point in the Schwäbisch Hall district at 564.7 m above sea level. Its distinctive architectural form sets it apart from the typical wooden towers common in the region. Rising some 60 metres above its immediately surrounding forest of the Sulzbacher Wald, the tower offers wide views across the Limpurger Berge and the Swabian-Franconian hill country on clear days. It is accessible via hiking trails from the village of Hohenberg, part of the municipality of Sulzbach-Laufen.
