About Al Bayda

Al Bayda lies in northeastern Libya on the Jabal al-Akhdar plateau, the so-called Green Mountain, at an elevation that gives it a noticeably cooler and greener climate than most Libyan cities. With a population of around 250,000, it is one of the country's significant urban centres. The city is home to several mosques, including the مسجد صلاح الدين الأيوبي and the مسجد الصفاء والمروة, and offers visitors a relatively quiet, everyday Libyan city experience away from the main coastal hubs.
