Amasya is a city in northern Anatolia, Turkey, with a population of around 115,000, situated in the valley of the Yeşilırmak River in the province of the same name. It has a long history as an important centre of the ancient Pontic kingdom. Points of interest include the Kültür Parkı and several mosques, among them the Hattat Hamdullah Efendi Camii and the Eymir Mahallesi Cami. The hills of Gölçalı Tepesi and Çal Tepe define the surrounding landscape. The Yusuf Demir Altıparmak Park provides green space, while Suluova Otogar links the area to the wider region.
