Bayreuth
Bayreuth is a city of around 75,000 people in the Upper Franconia region of northeastern Bavaria, Germany. It is widely associated with composer Richard Wagner, whose annual festival draws visitors from around the world. Beyond that cultural reputation, the city hosts a major university, a baroque old town, and a range of public artworks, including Non Violence – The Knotted Gun, Mutter Erde, and the Markgrafentisch. The surrounding Franconian Switzerland landscape makes Bayreuth an appealing base for outdoor exploration as well.
