Hólmavík is a small fishing village in western Iceland, situated on the Húnafjörður in the remote Strandir region. With a population of around 320, it is one of the larger settlements along this rugged Atlantic coastline. The landscape is defined by peaks such as Árnesfjall, Öxl, Staðarfjall, and Drangavíkurfjall, while hiking routes lead to summits including Skerðingsstaðahyrna and Nónborg. The Lambanes peninsula and the fishing vessel MS Suðurland reflect the area's close ties to the sea and its wild, largely unspoiled natural setting.
