Hvolsvöllur is a small town of around 1,080 people in southern Iceland, situated in the river lowlands not far from the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. The surrounding landscape is defined by volcanic and glacial terrain, with nearby natural features including the peaks of Hæringsfell, Vörðufell, and Hrauntindar, the rock formation Litlaklif, and the island of Bjarnarey.
