About Mycenae

Mycenae sits in the northeastern Peloponnese in Greece and is one of the most significant archaeological sites of the ancient world. The Bronze Age palace centre flourished roughly between 1600 and 1100 BCE as the heart of Mycenaean civilisation. Visitors can explore remains including Grave Circle A, the Oil trader's house, and the structure known as the Thron, alongside the ancient temple ruins of Ερείπια Ναού. Several small churches, among them Παναγία Βασέρκα and Ευαγγελίστρια, are also found in the area, reflecting the site's long continuity of habitation.
