About Penzberg

Penzberg is a small city of around 17,000 inhabitants in the Upper Bavarian foothills of the Alps, situated south of Munich. Historically it was one of Bavaria's most important coal-mining centres, a legacy that still shapes parts of its character. The surrounding landscape offers rewarding walks to spots such as the Aidlinger Höhe, the Mineck-Hütte and the Osterfeuerspitze. Within the city, the parish church of St. Nikolaus and the church Zu Unserer lieben Frau von Wladimir are notable landmarks. Leisure facilities include the Wellenbad & Tennispark, making it a practical base for both culture and outdoor activity.
