The BTR-40 on display in Temrjuk is a Soviet armored personnel carrier from the early 1950s, mounted as an open-air monument in the city. One of the first postwar Soviet wheeled APCs, it saw wide service across Warsaw Pact armies — East Germany's NVA operated it as the SPW-40. The vehicle is a typical example of the Russian small-town tradition of placing decommissioned military hardware on plinths as tributes to the armed forces.
