САУ 2С1
The 2S1 Gvozdika — Russian for 'carnation' — is a Soviet 122 mm self-propelled howitzer developed in the late 1960s and introduced into the Red Army in the early 1970s. NATO first observed the vehicle in 1974, assigning it the provisional designation M1974. The example in Novy Urengoy is displayed as an open-air monument, a common type of military hardware memorial found across Russian cities commemorating Soviet defense heritage. It holds limited tourist interest beyond enthusiasts of Soviet military technology.
