Aakerfährbrücke

The Aakerfährbrücke is a four-lane road bridge over the Ruhr completed in 1997, connecting the Duisburg districts of Duissern and Meiderich. It forms part of the Brückenlandschaft Ruhraue, a cluster of bridges highlighted by the Route der Industriekultur — a signposted trail through the Ruhr region's industrial heritage. Beyond its inclusion in that ensemble, the bridge is a straightforward piece of traffic infrastructure with no additional cultural or tourist draw.
