Abbabis

Abbabis is a derelict narrow-gauge railway station in Namibia, opened on 30 May 1900 as a stop on the German colonial line from Swakopmund to Windhoek, built to a 600 mm gauge. The line was among the first railways in German South West Africa, constructed to move resources and project military reach into the interior for the Imperial Protection Force. Today the track is long abandoned and the station building is in decay, a quiet remnant of early 20th-century colonial infrastructure standing in the Namibian scrubland between Karibib and the coast.
