The USA's largest film museum, housed in a landmark Renzo Piano building with views of the Hollywood Hills.
The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles is the largest film museum in the United States. It opened in September 2021 after years of delays, including a pandemic-related postponement. The building pairs the 1930s May Company Building — a fine example of Streamline Moderne — with a dramatic glass sphere designed by architect Renzo Piano. The permanent collection includes original costumes, props, and more than 52 million items from the Academy Collection. The sphere's terrace offers unobstructed views of the Hollywood Hills. A standout feature is the fully restored cinema housed inside the sphere itself.
