Adelaide Parklands Terminal

Adelaide
  • Long-distance Travel

Adelaide Parklands Terminal is Adelaide's sole intercity rail station, located in the City of West Torrens just outside the city center. Opened in 1984 and owned by Journey Beyond Rail Expeditions, the terminal serves exclusively as the departure point for Australia's most celebrated long-distance trains: the Indian Pacific to Sydney and Perth, the legendary Ghan running through the Red Centre to Darwin, and The Overland to Melbourne. The building itself is modest and purely functional — its significance lies entirely in the multi-day rail journeys it launches across some of Australia's most remote landscapes.
