Adelaide railway station

Adelaide railway station is a sandstone terminus at the heart of the city centre and the main hub of the Adelaide Metro suburban rail network. The building reflects the colonial-era construction style common in South Australia. Long-distance services — including the famous Ghan to Darwin — have been rerouted to the out-of-town Parklands Terminal since 1984, leaving this station exclusively for commuter traffic. For visitors it functions primarily as a practical transit gateway rather than a destination in its own right.
