Ai caduti di Nāṣiriya

This monument in Foggia commemorates the victims of the Nasiriyah suicide bombing on 12 November 2003, in which 28 people were killed — among them 19 Italians, mostly Carabinieri — at the headquarters of the Italian military contingent in Iraq. It remains the single deadliest day for Italian armed forces since World War II. The memorial serves as a quiet place of remembrance, marking the loss of personnel from the region and honoring both the military and civilian victims of the attack.
